Chapter 1: The Love for Math
Mathematics is the language of the universe. It's the way we describe the world around us and how we make sense of the phenomena that we see every day. For me, math was always a way of understanding the world, a way of decoding the mysteries that surrounded us. And it all began when I was a child.
Growing up, I was always fascinated by numbers. I loved playing with them, exploring the patterns and relationships that they shared. I remember spending hours poring over math puzzles and games, trying to understand the logic behind them. It was like a secret code that I wanted to unlock.
As I got older, my fascination with math only grew. I realized that it was the key to understanding many of the fundamental laws that govern the world. It was the language of science, the foundation upon which all of our understanding of the physical world was built.
My academic journey in mathematics was filled with challenges and obstacles, but it was also immensely rewarding. I pursued my undergraduate degree in psychology (which has a surprising amount of math), and then went on to do a quantitatively focused master's degree in business, finishing with a Ph.D. level course that focused on statistics. During this time, I was constantly drawn to the intersection of mathematics and real world problems.
It was in my master's degree that I first encountered the field of artificial intelligence. AI was a rapidly growing field at the time, and it was clear that it was going to play an important role in shaping the future of technology. As I learned more about AI, I became increasingly fascinated by its potential.
AI was the perfect intersection of my love for math and my fascination with technology. It was a field where I could use my mathematical skills to build intelligent systems that could solve complex problems. And so, I decided to pursue a career in AI.
I began working in the field of AI in 2015, and I have been immersed in it ever since. Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of projects, from risk analysis in financial technology to controlled environment agriculture. I have seen firsthand how AI has transformed the way we live and work.
What I find most exciting about AI is its potential to unlock creativity and innovation. AI has the power to amplify our own abilities, enabling us to achieve more than we ever thought possible. By automating routine tasks and providing new insights and perspectives, AI can free us up to focus on the tasks that truly require human ingenuity and creativity.
I believe that the future of AI is about asking questions, having curiosity, and imagination. It's about using AI as a tool to unlock our own creativity and explore new ways of living. And that's what this book is all about.
In the following chapters, I will explore how AI can be used to maximize creativity and innovation. I will share my own experiences working in the field of AI, and I will provide practical advice and guidance for those who want to use AI to drive innovation in their own lives and careers.
But before we dive into the practical aspects of AI, I want to explore the role that math has played in my journey. It is my love for math that has led me to where I am today, and it continues to be a driving force in my work. In the next chapter, I will delve deeper into my relationship with math and explore how it has shaped my approach to AI.
